Material: ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate)
ASA is a high-tech polymer designed for outdoor use. This plastic is characterized by its particularly high strength, rigidity, and weather resistance.
These properties are due to its special ingredient: acrylate rubber.

We process ASA as sheet material, meaning the parts are milled “from solid material.” This also brings out the high-quality, matte, scratch-resistant black surface that is typical of ASA.
The surface requires no further treatment; AC Schnitzer aerodynamic components made from ASA can be installed directly.
Of course, painting is still possible upon request. After pre-treatment of the ASA surface, it can be painted in any color.

Creative Design
Whether PUR, ASA, or carbon: all design concepts at AC Schnitzer come from a true Italian artist—Michele Viandante, who has been the Head Designer at AC Schnitzer for many years.
His designs are not only beautiful but also functional: many parts are tested in wind tunnels for performance.

Testing
If the calculations match the results, further tests are conducted. Crash tests with dummies check, for example, whether pedestrian protection requirements are met.
Only after all tests are completed and certifications are issued do AC Schnitzer aerodynamic components go on sale worldwide.

Certification
The component certificate is an official document that allows the use of tuning parts on public roads under the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO) and in some other countries.
After installation or modification of the part described in the certificate, the vehicle must be presented to an official inspection authority.
The inspector verifies correct installation and authenticity of the part, then enters the modification into the vehicle documents. This ensures the vehicle’s official operating license remains valid.
The component certificate is included in the delivery.
